This August, Butler County Business Matters, the business publication of the Butler Eagle, will be celebrating the printing of its 100th issue. The first issue was published in May 2008 at the initiative of the late Ken McElroy, the publication’s first managing director. McElroy predicted the first issue would initially be a 24-page publication, but with the help of Advertising Account Executive, Mary McFarland, who was brought on board in February that year, the first publication instead became a 28-page issue. By the end of the 2008, Butler County Business Matters was a 40-page publication, having filled the need for local business information for the Butler County business community.
Today, Business Matters has doubled in size and is read by more than 15,000 county business leaders. The publication is the only avenue in the county where industry leaders can stay on top of business issues and the moves of other business innovators. The August 100th issue will feature the success stories of other Butler County businesses that are also celebrating an anniversary, milestone or achievement. Butler County Business Matters will officially celebrate the 100th issue on Aug. 4th at the Butler Eagle Production Center along with the many businesses that have supported the success of the publication over the last eight years.
